A generous man will prosper;

He who refreshes others

will Himself be refreshed.

Is giving money a
good thing?

Is giving money
a good thing?

That’s a very good question and answers will differ depending on who you ask.
Those who are generous with their money and time will very likely agree with the following views –
“Regular acts of kindness like donating or volunteering have been linked to lower stress levels, reduced blood pressure, and even a longer life”.
“Donating doesn't just help others -- it also helps you. Research shows that giving money away actually makes us happier and enhances our well-being”.
Most people who give however, would probably just say “It’s a good (or the right) thing to do”.
Whatever you think, The Cheerful Giver is a brand-new private initiative with its sole purpose being to encourage more of us who “have”, to share what we have with those who “have not”. It’s that simple.
Over time we will build a comprehensive bank of stories and information about reputable charitable organisations from around the globe, and in particular, those who help people contend with very difficult circumstances, and who deserve your consideration.

About the founder

Founder: Bob Holland

The Founder and Principal of The Cheerful Giver is Bob Holland. Bob is 77, a former businessman and publisher, and now a widower, who lost Jackie, his beautiful wife of 52 years, to a hideous and fatal brain disease in 2022. Bob is also an ideas man with a measure of entrepreneurial flair and claims to still have something to offer in the way of service to the wider community.

The Cheerful Giver is a project of the heart, it is not about business.

The Cheerful Giver is a project from Bob’s heart, it is not a commercial venture, but through necessity and regulations, it does have some commercial aspects.

Bob’s hope and desire is that over time, he can show that he is a man of integrity and good intentions, that he can be trusted, and that his motives are honourable. To use his words – “I want to earn your trust and support as I encourage you to give a portion of your money and/or time, for no reason other than to help make the lives or circumstances for those who are clearly among the “have nots”, better.

One thing that Bob wants to make very clear from the outset is this –

The Cheerful Giver website will NEVER ask you to send money to him. To give money or donate, you will ALWAYS be directed to the official website of the charity or organisation you want to support or help by a LINK. All donations will go directly via that LINK from you to the relevant charity or organisation.

For the greater good, please help “Spread the Word” about The Cheerful Giver.
